Vote for Ben Jobgen, 6th Ward Alderman
Meet Ben
I am a 42-year-old, married, father of two. I was born and raised in Davenport, IA. College took me to Wartburg College in Waverly, IA, where I graduated in 1999 with a BA in biology. From there, I attended the University of Iowa, graduating with a MPT in 2001. Since, I have worked as a physical therapist in the Quad Cities, residing in Davenport, IA.
Throughout my working years, I have sought to maintain a healthy work-family balance. Therefore, most of the volunteering outside of work has focused on activities in which our children participate. Current involvement includes: Board Member- Assumption Foundation for K-12 Schools, President- Assumption High School Athletic Booster Club, and President- Rising Knights Wrestling Club. Past volunteer activities have included: coaching various sports, being an officer on JFK Catholic School Athletic Club, holding an officer position on the JFK Catholic School Home & School Association, and being the School coordinator for the youth sports provided by the Davenport Parks and Rec Board (also when formerly Dad's Club).
My desire to participate in city Government has grown over the past few years. I believe representing the 6th Ward would allow me to maintain a proper balance of work and family. As residents of the 6th Ward, I would be confident actions taken by the council would benefit my family, the 6th Ward, and the city as a whole. Therefore, continuing to make the City of Davenport an excellent place to reside.
